Hi , How did your week go?

Mine nearly got ruined when I heard rumours that the next Android might be copying Apple's Liquid Glass UI, but thankfully those turned out to be false. This week's article is a little different, it is a roundup of everything we know is coming in Android 17, pulled together from different sources into one place. Go through it and see what excites you, and next week after the Android Show on May 12 and Google I/O we will have the full picture and talk more on it.

Also worth noting this week, Google launched the Fitbit Air, a new fitness tracker going directly after Whoop's subscription-based model. They are also consolidating their health apps into a unified Google Health app, which should make the whole experience a lot cleaner for people already in the Google ecosystem.

Android 17 Is Coming. Here Is Everything That Is Changing

The Android Show is scheduled for next week on May 12 and we will finally get to see everything that is new in Android 17. In the meantime, check out this week's article which is a full list of what is expected based on announced features, leaks, and things extracted from code. It is a long list, but some highlights include changes to the look and feel of the UI, new privacy features, improvements to multitasking, and better cross-device continuity.

A personal favourite from the list is Motion Assist, a rumoured feature aimed at reducing motion sickness while using your phone in a moving vehicle. Something similar already exists on iOS, and even though I have not experienced motion sickness myself, I have friends who do, and I am glad they are finally getting something that could make travelling a little more bearable for them.
