A key element in the mitigation of climate change is capacity. Renewable energy sources are expected to provide 20–40% of the world's primary energy in buildings in developing countries, where the main energy use growth is expected. Higher education (academic) institutions occupy an important and central role in contributing to capacity building for sustainable energy development. Asteven Energy Institute, as an academic institution, plays a central role in the development and dissemination of sustainable energy programs through training that addresses the needs of the industry and community. There are both long-term and short-term training programmes that address all issues of energy development. Our National Innovation Diploma in Solar Energy Technology Programme is designed to allow students to develop a thorough understanding of contemporary science as applied to modern solar energy technology. This will create highly trained man-power for the future advancement of solar energy in science and technology and all round development of the country. |
