Dear Friend,

Everyday we think about the endless reasons how Wisconsin's parks, forests, trails, and recreational areas are significant. It's our fuel to keep advocating and working around the clock.

That being said, we want to keep this simple. We are honing it down to only NINE. No easy task, but we know you will find it hard to disagree with them.

Here are the first 4 (of 9) reasons supporting Friends of Wisconsin State Parks matters—with more to come.

Reason No. 9:
Tradition.

Our 118 state parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas are central to Wisconsin’s identity—places where memories are made, traditions begin, and communities connect.

Reason No. 8:
They Power Local Economies

Nearly 20 million visits each year support tourism, small businesses, and jobs across the state. Healthy parks mean healthy communities.

Reason No. 7:
They’re Powered by People.

Friends groups and volunteers step up where funding falls short—supporting park staff, improving trails, and enhancing visitor experiences statewide.

Reason No. 6:
Parks Are for Everyone.

Public lands are one of the few places where everyone belongs. Friends help keep parks welcoming, accessible, and open to all.

The final five reasons are coming sooner than the series finale of Stranger Things on Netflix.

And all joking aside, each reason is enhanced because of you.

Your support helps make all of this possible.
