Very Important Reminders Regarding the Philippine Specialty Board of Internal Medicine (PSBIM) Certifying Examination 2026

Dear Doctors:

 

The Philippine College of Physicians (PCP), through the Philippine Specialty Board of Internal Medicine (PSBIM), would like to remind everyone of the important dates and information related to the PSBIM Examination. The PSBIM Exam 2026 will be administered through a computer-based platform.

 

  1. Venue for the 2026 PSBIM Certifying Examination: Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Heights Campus, Katipunan Ave, Quezon City, Metro Manila - (John Gokongwei School of Management (JGSOM) and the PLDT-Convergent Technologies Center (PLDT-CTC) Buildings)

     

  2. Application Process: The application for the PSBIM Certifying Examination must be submitted online. See the following via this link: https://pcp.org.ph/psbim-examination/

    • CPGs and Assessment Plan

 

  1. Examination Fee:
    • Graduates of PCP-accredited training institution: ₱7,500.00
    • Foreign Medical Graduates or Graduates of foreign accredited IM Training Programs
      • PSBIM Certifying Examination Fee: US$ 300.00

 

  1. Important Dates:
    • January 15, 2026: Deadline for submission of application form and other requirements (online through the PCP website)
    • February 2, 2026: Release of the list of approved examinees.
    • Self-administered Required Mock Exams
      • January 19 to January 23, 2026: 1st required mock exam.
      • February 9 to 13, 2026: 2nd required mock exam.
    • 1700H February 9, 2026: Filing of appeal regarding the list of approved examinees.
    • 1700H February 14, 2026: Deadline for submission of a request for withdrawal of the application from the certifying examination (with justifiable reason).
    • February 23-24, 2026: The PSBIM Diplomate exam will be available for download ONLY on these dates.
    • February 25, 2026: The Exam Permit with the unique QR code will be sent through email to each candidate who has downloaded the exam.
    • 0800H March 1, 2026, Sunday: PSBIM Certifying Examination

 

  1. Exam Coverage: A total of 360 multiple-choice questions, arranged randomly and in no particular order of category
    • 144 for Cardiology, Infectious Diseases, and Pulmonary Medicine.
    • 108 for Gastroenterology, Nephrology, and Endocrinology.
    • 72 for Hematology, Neurology, and Medical Oncology.
    • 36 for Dermatology, Rheumatology, and Clinical Allergology and Immunology.
    • The questions on Primary Care Practice, Patient Safety, Ethics, Critical care, Geriatric Medicine, Nutrition, Palliative Care, Toxicology and Poisoning, and Clinical decision making are included.

 

  1. References for the PSBIM 2026 Examination:
    • 21st Edition of Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine
    • Clinical Practice Guidelines of the various subspecialties.
    • Selected topics from the 1st Edition of PCP Textbook of Internal Medicine (PTIM).

      Please review the Assessment Plan posted on the website, which lists the CPGs and selected topics from PTIM.

 

  1. Use of QR Code for Identification of Examinees: QR codes will be used for attendance and identification of the examinee during the PSBIM Examination.
