On March 20, the EUEA together with the leading RES associations sent a joint letter to the NEURC regarding the extension of the period during which comments and proposals are accepted for the draft regulatory act - the resolution of the NEURC "On Approval of Amendments to Certain Resolutions of the NEURC".

⚡️The level of calculations of the Guaranteed buyer to RES producers

As of March 8, the percentage of "green" generation payments for two months is 71.1%, while in January - 91%, and in February - 57.9%. The debt of NPC "Ukrenergo" amounts to UAH 13.8 billion.

«This month we have a different percentage of payments than in January. This is primarily due to the fact that NPC "Ukrenergo" has not yet made advance payments in full. Also in February, there was a surplus of electric energy on the market, which is definitely a positive factor for our energy system, because it shows that the situation in the industry is improving, and the problems caused by missile attacks are being solved over time" - commented the head of the enterprise, Artem Nekrasov. 💲 During the year of the war, the energy industry suffered losses of $8.1 billion - KSE

According to the Kyiv School of Economics and the "Russia Will Pay" project, as of February 2023, the total amount of damage caused to the infrastructure of Ukraine due to a full-scale Russian invasion increased by another $6 billion and is $143.8 billion (at replacement cost). Damages caused to Ukraine's energy sector also increased, amounting to $8.1 billion. 👉🏻 Poland plans to build a high-voltage power transmission line between the Rivne NPP and Chelm to import electricity

The Polish energy company Orlen Synthos Green Energy initiated a project to build a high-voltage line between the Rivne NPP and the city of Chelm in Poland for the import of Ukrainian electricity. It is about a 400 kV line with a length of about 175 km from Varash, where the Rivne NPP is located, to Khelm. The investment cost is estimated at more than €297 million. The line will provide energy transmission at the level of 1,000 MW in both directions, to and from Poland. Details.

✅ Ukraine plans to build 10 plants for the production of biomethane in two years

In Ukraine, it is planned to build 5 plants for the production of biomethane, next year - at least the same number. Thanks to the production of an alternative type of fuel, Ukraine will come close to replacing the import of natural gas. The importance of supporting the development of biomethane and bioethanol production at the legislative level was stated by the chairman of the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleksandr Haydu at a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy, the State Customs Service, TSO  and associations.  Details.

☀️Ukrainian hospitals will be equipped with solar panels

The Ministry of Health, together with the Ministry of Energy, is launching a project to install solar panels at healthcare facilities in Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Health, the "Ray of Hope" project is part of the European Commission's assistance to Ukraine. At the first stage, Ukraine will receive 5,700 solar panels of 350W each, with a total capacity of about 2 MW. Preference will be given to those buildings that are most vulnerable to outages, as well as those affected by hostilities. ✔️The US Development Finance Corporation DFC will consider five Ukrainian investment projects

The Advantage Ukraine investment platform prepared and submitted the first investment projects for consideration by the American International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) regarding the financing and insurance of military risks. These are projects from Ukrainian investors in the construction, manufacturing, e-commerce and residential real estate sectors for a total amount of $430 million. In addition, Advantage Ukraine is working on several other projects and hopes to soon submit them to the DFC for consideration, related to logistics, deep processing of agricultural products, energy, etc. Details.

✔️The "Green" Bank of Scandinavia will provide €34.5 million to four Ukrainian cities for the construction of housing for internally displaced persons

Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Khmelnytskyi and Novovolynsk will attract a €34.5 million grant from the EU through NEFCO. The construction of housing with fully equipped and furnished apartments with a useful area ranging from 5 to 7 thousand square meters is planned. 📈 The world's RES capacity increased by almost 10% last year

According to IRENA estimates, by the end of 2022, the total installed capacity of RES in the world reached 3,372 GW (+9.6% compared to the previous year). Almost half of the new capacity was added in Asia. In particular, only China 141 GW. "This record growth shows the resilience of renewable energy sources in the face of a prolonged energy crisis," commented IRENA CEO Francesco La Camera.
