What are the main advantages of such a partnership? How to determine the needs of the community in social services? How to create coordination groups to study such needs, while avoiding the most common mistakes? How to monitor the provision of social services, determining the quality assessment? All this was discussed at the webinar “The Role and Place of Public Associations of People with Disabilities and Veterans in the Provision of Social Services”, organized by the Resource Center of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) within the framework of the project “Rehabilitation in Ukraine” (Rehab4U). |

HLC reform: NAPD advocates for dialogue and qualitative changes in public policyRepresentatives of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine support the need to improve the regulatory framework for the activities of military medical commissions. The VLK system should be honest, transparent, professional, and provide quality services to both military personnel and civilians. After all, this is a matter of justice, respect, and efficiency. The presentation of the study “Blind Zones of VLK: How the Expertise System Works in Ukraine,” conducted on June 17, 2025 by the Media Initiative for Human Rights with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, became an important platform for discussing the challenges in the work of military medical commissions, which daily make fateful decisions for thousands of people — military, mobilized, wounded, and disabled people. |

Memorandum signed with the Christian Mission for the Blind (CBM)The National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Christian Mission of the Blind (CMM), an international organization that helps people with disabilities. The organization actively cooperates with Ukrainian partner organizations, mainly through joint projects with other, in particular European, structures. The memorandum provides for direct cooperation between the NAPD and CMM. As the CMM notes, their organization works in partnership with state and non-state structures to create an inclusive society for all, and the work is aimed at making a real contribution to the lives of those who need it. “We focus on developing local potential in the regions where we work. This approach not only improves the provision of services in the field of healthcare, education, rehabilitation, but also contributes to the organizational development of our partner organizations,” the organization states. – We have the same values with our partner, we share their vision regarding the main areas of activity. We believe that it is the common values, mutual trust and approaches to work during the implementation of the project that will become a platform for building the potential of both organizations, – said the Secretary General of the NAPD Viktoriya Nazarenko. Briefly about the CBM. The organization got its name from Ernst Jakob Christoffel, who in 1908 set off on a journey to Asia to support people with visual impairments and other types of disabilities. The main goal of CBM is to break the cycle of poverty and improve the quality of life of people with disabilities in different countries of the world. |
