| I am Elisabetta, a wife and mother of a wonderful five-year-old boy named Alessandro. I spent a good amount of my life in the United States but I am originally from Italy where I live when I am not traveling or spending time in the United States. I also spent time in Switzerland when I was studying for my doctoral studies ( more below on this). My career in the financial sector, often as a minority in a predominately male-dominated field, was filled with obstacles – from making myself seen to navigating the very real gender pay gap. These experiences ignited my passion for financial education, especially for women, aiming to bridge the gender gap, shatter glass ceilings, and close the financial literacy gap. My academic and professional journey in the world of finance is both broad and deep. I started with a Bachelor in Business and Finance from Bocconi University in Milan, one of Italy’s most prestigious institutions. My desire to further my expertise led me to the United States, where I completed a dual degree, securing both a Master of Science in Finance and an MBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. But I didn't stop there. I pursued and achieved a PhD in Business and Finance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, delving into complex financial theories and practices. Additionally, I earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential, a testament to my dedication and mastery in finance, recognized globally and known for its rigorous selection process with a 35% pass rate. My writings, including several peer-reviewed articles, blogs, and the co-authored book "Smarter Investing: How Academic Insights Propel the Savvy Investor," reflect my ongoing commitment to financial education. My professional journey has taken me from managing a pension fund for a Fortune 500 company to advising Ultra High Net Worth Individuals on financial planning, asset allocation, and governance as well as to teaching several graduate-level courses at an international university.
