Products derived from hemp fibers

Within the scope of the FIBSUN project, exclusively semi-rigid panels with a density of 50 kg/m³ were developed. These panels are produced from 100% hemp short fibers, a natural and sustainable material that contributes to more environmentally friendly solutions.

Hemp-based insulation products have great potential to replace conventional materials, as they offer high mechanical resistance and thermal resistance comparable to fiberglass.
Hemp insulation materials are easier to install, as they do not contain abrasive fibers, and are vapor-permeable, thus helping to reduce mold formation
An additional advantage is the ease of recycling these biobased materials at the end of their life cycle.
