The gathering brought together professionals and representatives from international chambers and associations in Myanmar for an evening of networking, connection and festive celebrations. The Launch of Myanmar Total Remuneration Survey

14th Monthly Meeting of HR Advisory & Supervisory Group

(Previously HR Working Group) by MMBC, MHKCCI, SAM and TBAM was held!

The 14th HRWG monthly meeting was hosted by TBAM on 27 August 2026 at Siam Commercial Bank, Sule Square, Yangon. It was another engaging and productive session, bringing together HR professionals and representatives from chambers and business associations to exchange insights and experiences.

A key milestone from this meeting was the members’ unanimous decision to officially rebrand the group as the HR Advisory and Strategy Group in Myanmar (HASG-MM). Members also discussed Managing Scope & Capacity Under Current Constraints and Workforce & Employee Relations Update, exploring key HR challenges and priorities in today’s business environment.

SAM looks forward to continuing our collaboration with fellow chambers and associations through this growing HR network.

U9Cares Delivered Emergency Flood Relief to 1,000 Households in Ayeyarwady Region

U9Cares, U9's long-term social impact initiative, had provided emergency assistance to flood-affected communities across the Ayeyarwady Region in partnership with local community leaders and the Yangon Rescue Organization (YRO).

To support communication during the emergency, U9 provided free 500 On-net call minutes and 5GB of internet from August 7 to 13 for families and rescue teams in Yekyi, Kyonepyaw, and Laymyetna townships.

With support from YRO, U9Cares and employee volunteers of U9 travelled by boats to deliver aid to 1,000 households across 16 relief locations. In Yekyi Township, assistance reached Yekyi Indoor Sports Stadium, Thayetpinhla, Ngaryan, Letyi, and Kyone Matoke villages. In Kyonepyaw Township, aid reached Thaung, Mhankun, and Phoe Htaung villages. In Laymyetna Township, support was provided to Thakuakone, Thonesal, Wedaunt, Hlaylan Chaung, Yenaik, Htein Pin Laha, Daungyi, and Koe Te villages. Each household received rice, cooking oil, instant noodles, fried fish paste, dried fish floss, and clothing.

Through these contributions, U9Cares believes that they not only addressed the urgent needs of the affected communities firsthand but also provided a vital source of strength for everyone to overcome these challenges together.
