What I'm reading - Stumbled across this article from a few years ago outlining the immense success of Larry Kehres' Mount Union football program. Here's my favorite quote from the article: "From planning for games to recruiting to meetings to travel plans, Kehres addressed everything with championship-level detail. 'He does everything better than you do it,' Raeburn said. 'They do the laundry better than you do the laundry.'" Take pride in the little, mundane things! What I'm watching - I smiled when I came across this video this week. It's a great example of how staying confident helps you bounce back from a loss. Shooters shoot! What I'm learning - When the primary aim of criticism is to uplift, not to destroy, the results are overwhelmingly positive. I'm learning that criticism can be wonderfully helpful or incredibly debilitating. What I'm writing - The story of Jonah is one of the most well-known stories in history. Whether you're a Christian or not, chances are you're familiar with the story on a basic level. But a deeper look reveals that the book of Jonah shows God's gracious concern for the whole world, His power over nature, and the futility of running from Him. In addition, it foreshadows Jesus' burial and resurrection. Here is my book review for the biblical book of Jonah. |
