What I'm reading - This photo went viral yesterday, and for good reason. The Japanese men's national team left their locker room remarkably clean after beating top-ranked Germany on Wednesday: "This isn't just a clean dressing room, it's a clear demonstration of values. It's a statement about respect, gratitude and attention to detail. The small things are the biggest indicator of the big things - your values." What I'm watching - Prior to the commencement of the World Cup, Frito-Lay teamed up with director Michael Bay to work with some of the most iconic players in the game to create an awesome commercial. David Beckham, Peyton Manning, Mia Hamm, Chicharito, Julie Foudy, Brandi Chastain, and Tim Howard all try to settle the debate once and for all: is it called soccer or football? What I'm learning - I'm learning that the more disciplined my environment is, the less disciplined I need to be. Build the best environment possible and your chances of success skyrocket. What I'm writing - After scanning books and articles on topics deeply connected to character traits, I can't say for certain what is the most valuable one. But there is a trait I believe to be important and I've failed to see it in any book or article I've read. Here is what I think might be the most valuable character trait. |
