What I'm reading - Steve Wosniak—co-found of Apple—shares why it's sometimes best to err on the side of creativity: "All the best things that I did at Apple came from (a) not having money and (b) not having done it before, ever. Every single thing that we came out with that was really great, I'd never once done that thing in my life.” What I'm watching - Prior to their upcoming game against UL-Monroe, Alabama head football coach Nick Saban got riled up when asked about the perceived quality of their opponent: "Every player should not be focused on who they are playing against relative to the motivation, but every player should want to be the best player they can be. Why would it matter, whether we're playing Texas or playing somebody else? That's how you get good, that's how you develop the right habits. That's how you're consistent." The full 1:42 clip is worth your time. What I'm learning - I'm learning it takes a realllllly long time to build a strong reputation. And it takes a realllllly short time to ruin it. Act wisely. What I'm writing - If you were to read the Bible from beginning to end, after reading the book of Judges, which paints a dark and depressing picture of Israel, you would be relieved to encounter Ruth. Ruth is an oft-quoted book to demonstrate what kindness, faith, and patience truly look like. Here is my book review for the biblical book of Ruth. |
