What I'm reading - St. Anne's-Belfield School in Virginia recently hired Joe Sandoe as their new head football coach. In the press release, I love what Sandoe said about finding success on the field: "Success in football takes time. It is like smoking ribs, not microwaving noodles. We need to commit to each small step in the process and trust that a lot of small things done will accumulate into success." What I'm watching - North Carolina defensive coordinator Gene Chizik recently shared that when you're bad at something, it usually can be traced back to one area: “If you're bad in business, if you're bad in your family, if you're bad in a relationship, if you're bad in anything, it usually comes down to communication. It just does. That's kind of the fall of mankind. When things don't go well, it's because there's probably a communication gap in there somewhere." What I'm learning - I’m learning that the goodness of God cannot be exaggerated. His love is so vast and deep and long and wide that we will never see the end of it. Praise God! What I'm writing - H. L. Hunt was an American oil tycoon who secured title to much of the East Texas Oil Field, one of the world's largest oil deposits. At the time of his death, Hunt was reputed to have the highest net worth of any individual in the world. He has a great quote that I really like, and it's something we can all learn from the world's (former) wealthiest man. |
