What I'm reading - Mississippi State held their first of three spring football scrimmages last weekend. Head Coach Mike Leach had this to say about the scrimmage, and I think it transfers to any sport: "One of the quickest signs of a decent scrimmage is if everybody is pissed. If one side is happy then something is wrong on the other side." What I'm watching - When asked about performing under pressure, Simon Sinek had a really insightful response: "Performing under pressure, whether it's me or anybody else, is the same. What I find fascinating is the interpretation of the stimuli." The full 60-second clip is incredibly perceptive. What I'm learning - There is literally no one else in the world like you. Never has been; never will be. I’m learning that it’s best to own your uniqueness. You were born an original. Don’t die a copy. What I'm writing - Dwight D. Eisenhower is generally considered one of the better American presidents. Historical evaluations of his presidency place him among the upper tier of American presidents, but where he unequivocally ranks at the top of most lists, is his leadership and ability to rally his troops. Using an Eisenhower anecdote, here is the most effective way to get people to follow you. |
