It's Friday! Which means there are four things I'd like to share with you. I would love to hear your thoughts and comments, so feel free to reply directly to this email (I respond to every email I receive). Without further ado, here are four succinct, useful, and excellent thoughts from this week:

What I'm reading - At 1:00am in the early morning hours of October 23rd, 2019, Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor was struggling to prepare for an upcoming game against the Los Angeles Rams amid an 0-7 start to his first season as head coach. He wrote two words on the whiteboard, and he has looked at those two words every single day since then. This is perhaps my favorite story from this season.

What I'm watching - Have you ever wondered what goes on during an NFL head coaching interview? What does that hiring process look like? The Denver Broncos recently named Nathaniel Hackett as their new leader and shared a rare inside look into their selection process and what all went into it.

What I'm learning - I'm learning that improvement is usually the result of making less mistakes, not doing more things right. Don't look for things to add. Look for things to eliminate.

What I'm writing - The reason so many people have difficulty finding happiness is because they see the past as better than it really was, and the present worse than it is really is. You need to practice neutrality in your thinking! Here is a reminder that it's just a bad day, not a bad life.
