🎉 One Year, Many Milestones for Healthier Soils This September, LILAS4SOILS celebrated its first anniversary at the General Assembly in Athens, bringing together more than 40 team members of our diverse team from 5 Living Labs across 6 countries (Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Greece, and Israel). Over the past year, we successfully launched all 5 Living Labs, engaged 450+ stakeholders, finalized our soil sampling protocol with contributions from 50+ experts, and received 280+ farmer applications, selecting 53 farmers for our demo sites to implement Carbon Farming Practices (CFPs). The General Assembly was a moment to celebrate achievements, share lessons learned, and set the foundation for the next phase of co-creating effective soil regenerative solutions. |

🧑‍🌾 LILAS4SOILS farmers pool complete LILAS4SOILS Open Call for farmers, launched in March 2025, attracted over 280 applications, from which 50 farmers across Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, and Israel were selected to join the project to complete our pool of 100 demo sites. Each farmer will co-create and apply Carbon Farming Practices (CFPs) to 1–5 hectares of land over four years, receiving €5,000 per year for their active involvement. This strong response underscores both the breadth of interest in regenerative practices and the consortium’s capacity to mobilise diverse farming communities in tackling soil degradation. This updated guide will lead the first sampling campaign across 100 LILAS4SOILS farms in autumn 2025, establishing robust baselines for soil health and carbon stocks ahead of the full roll-out of Carbon Farming Practices. |
