Hello , I hope you had a good week? It is not exactly "consumer" tech, but the Artemis II mission has been underway this week, carrying humans further into space than at any point before during its lunar flyby. It is genuinely exciting, and if you are into anything space or high tech, it is worth your attention. NASA has a live stream running on YouTube. On the consumer tech side, Framework, known for making modular, upgradeable, and customisable laptops and PCs, has announced their event for April 21, I have a good feeling about what they have coming. Google is working on a useful Android feature that would let you automatically back up your phone's data to a local device using Quick Share, which is a much more private alternative to cloud backups. Leaks are also piling up and pointing to September as the month Apple will finally release their first foldable iPhone. Nothing is confirmed yet but the volume of leaks is hard to ignore at this point. And WhatsApp is quietly testing usernames with a very small group of users. It is early days, but it is a feature that could eventually change how people share their contact details without giving out their phone number. |
