Consuming vs. Creating

Friends,

I’ve been thinking a lot about my consumer to creator ratio lately.

When I got home from Greece, I almost immediately got sick and found myself in bed, doom scrolling away on my phone.

It didn’t take long for me to feel awful about the state of the world and also awful about my lack of cute reels. Clearly, the world was about to end and my business was no longer relevant.

See what I did there?

Taking in too much information, energy, and static from the outside world is definitely not what I need to stay connected to myself and my inner resilience right now…or ever.

Thankfully, this is where creating comes in.

Whether it’s creating paintings, creating gardens, or creating circles of friends, when I turn the dial down on consuming and up on creating, everything changes…and fast.

When I create, I’m in charge again, I’m connected to beauty and awe again, I feel more human again, and I feel hope again.

If you want to do something creative to soothe your nerves, but you're not sure where to start, I'm happy to share the hour-long replay from this week's FREE FLO Heart Circle. It was such a sweet and heartfelt session, I hope it offers a bit of solace to you as well.

Deep breaths and big love,

flora
