Military and Medical Commissions Reform: NAPD Advocates for Dialogue and Positive Change in Public PolicyRepresentatives of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine emphasize the need to improve the regulatory framework governing the activities of Military and Medical Commissions (MMC). The MMC system should be honest, transparent, and professional, and provide high-quality services to both military personnel and civilians. After all, this is a matter of justice, respect, and efficiency. The presentation of the study “Blind Zones of Military and Medical Commissions: How the Expertise System Works in Ukraine,” conducted on June 17, 2025, by the Media Initiative for Human Rights with the support from the International Renaissance Foundation, served as an important platform for discussing the challenges faced by military and medical commissions. We believe that shared values, mutual trust, and a collaborative approachin project implementation will serve as a platform for building the potential of both organizations,” said Viktoriia Nazarenko, Secretary General of the NAPD. A brief overview of the CBM: The organization is named after Ernst Jakob Christoffel, who in 1908 embarked on a journey to Asia to support people with visual impairments and other disabilities.
