"It's just a presentation or a talk. No big deal!" they say.

"It needs determination & courage!" I say.

You see, working on and improving your communication and presentation skills is no easy task.

It's never about "just a presentation" or "a simple talk".

Often, people dismiss your efforts or try to downgrade them. This usually happens if you take a step forward, come into the spotlight, and make an impact with a presentation or speech.

It hurts (for both sides).

HOWEVER

I always support those who do dare to ask for help.

Who understand the importance of communication.

Who are determined to improve themselves and make an impact.

Who are courageous enough to step on the scene and do their thing (good or with mistakes, it doesn't matter).

Today, I wanted to share with you some real-life examples of people who dared and nailed it.

The Root of All Evil: Social Media! Wait what?

No, I am not going to talk about that.

That was the topic of Jane’s monumental talk.

She had to squeeze all her thoughts, perspectives, emotions, and wisdom into 5 minutes.

It was a real challenge, but she took on it! 🙌

We worked together to prepare her for that talk.

Jane Piper is a high-calibre executive coach for mid-career crises, a future of work expert, an author, and a speaker.

She struggled with her structure (how to organize her thoughts and convey them with an impactful and coherent message) & wanted to improve her speaking style.

“I usually have too much to say! How can I possibly squeeze everything into a 5-minute talk?”

That’s 300 seconds. Every.Word.Matters. 👀

Here are 4 more stories: John, Elisabeth, Cyril & Valentina

• John, a CEO, Founder, Serial Entrepreneur, Board Member and Speaker, wanted to prepare for an important talk. He needed guidance and received insightful feedback and tailored support to nail it. And he did exactly that!

• Just like Elisabeth, a Senior VP in a global organization. She was looking for more long-term support and opted for my Positive Intelligence programme. In her words, "It was a fantastic journey of introspection, resilience and thirst to improve over a period of 6 weeks. No judgement but effective support, encouragement and empowerment".

• Cyril said, "We connected from the very first phone call!". The pleasure was mine! I empowered their clients to achieve their development goals with my communication training and coaching sessions. Cyril, a strategic communicator, change agent, and public speaker himself, appreciated our work together and labelled it as "a partnership based on trust and open communication!".

• Per Valentina's words, "Cecile's courses are a revelation. She took me beyond the content I present in my talks to the emotions underneath to connect with my audience!". Valentina is the author of "What Power Do I Have? A Career Guide on Redefining Leadership with Intersectional Talents" (and also coaches neurodivergent talents). Her struggle was real (before our work together), but real was also the result of creating our "magic" during the Speak4Impact Academy.

All those fantastic people are courageous and determined. They made themselves proud (me as well) and let their talent and personality shine!

What is your path?

This is where you belong, too. You have the inner strength and resilience to achieve what you deserve with your communication skills.

Time flies. So do the opportunities to influence, impact and inspire. Those last three words are my motto. They carry a lot of emotional weight. 

If public speaking is not about influencing others, making an impact around you, and inspiring those who follow you, then what is it? Just saying...
