Fall with Chena: Skills Program

The Skills Program (Bronze, Silver and Gold) is Chena's entry level program for swimmers aged 5-11. The program aims to teach fundamental skills and to introduce swimmers to their first competitive experiences in a fun, team setting.

Here is the Fall Schedule for the Skills Program:

• Returning Swimmer Fall Registration Tuesday September 3rd
• New Swimmer Assessments for Fall September 3-29th 
• New Swimmer Fall Registration Tuesday September 24th
• First Class of the Fall Session October 6th 
• Fall Skills Mini Meet December 15th

Fall Skills Class Schedule

Skills classes are 2x per week for October, November and December (only 1x per week for Bronze). First classes start on Sun, Oct 6th and go until the Fall Mini Meet on Dec 15th. Click the link below to see the full online schedule.

• 1x Bronze Class

Registration Confirmation

Please note that your registration is not confirmed until we receive your e-transfer payment in full. Please submit your payment promptly after completing your registration to secure your spot.

Assessments

Before registering for a Chena Skills class your child must be assessed or recommended for a class. Below are the dates that we currently have open for an assessment.

• Sep 3, 8, 15, 22, 29
• See Assessment Sheet for Times & Locations

See the sign up sheet for specifics about time and pool location. Please note that we may email you to adjust your assessment time a few days before the assessment to ensure that we have swimmers assess with other children their age.

Coach George's Farewell, September 2024

Hi Chena families,

It is with gratefulness and sadness that I announce that Coach George will be moving on at the conclusion of this season from his position as Lead Junior Coach to pursue his studies abroad. Coach George has been an integral member in our coaching staff since 2019 and has been the club’s Junior program lead and Chena Skills director since 2020. His final day with the program will be August 31^st, 2024.

We are thankful for the passion, enthusiasm, and energy that Coach George has invested into Chena through all these years – the program would not be where it is today without the great work he has done! I hope everyone joins me in passing thanks to Coach George and wishing him the best of luck in his new studies!

While we may never have another Coach George, we are confident in our recruiting abilities and we are looking forward to having Coach George guide us in our handover process in the next months so that the program evolves to be better than ever! Families, if you know of someone who may be qualified and interested in the position, please have them reach out to me directly :)
