Winter Skills Class Schedule

We are pleased to share that our Skills Program class schedules are now available for the 2023 Winter Session. Note that classes with a time change from the fall are noted in bold.

• 1x Gold Class - Tue 5:00pm @ RA + Fri 5:45pm @ RA
• 1x Silver Two Class - Tue 3:45pm @ RA + Thu 5:00pm @ RA
• 2x Silver One Classes
  • Tue 3:45pm @ RA + Sun 10:15am @ HJ
  • Tue 6:00pm @ RA + Fri 5:45pm @ RA
• 1x Bronze Class - Fri 4:45pm @ RA

First classes start on January 18th or 19th  and go until the Winter Mini Meet on March 17th.

Fall Skills Registration

With our schedules now posted, we are now able to share with you the registration opening dates:

• Returning Swimmers: Friday September 8th
• New Swimmers: Friday September 15th

The different classes will open at the usual staggered times:

• Gold: 10:00am
• Silver Two: 10:20am
• Silver One: 10:40am
• Bronze: 11:00am

Interest in the Chena Skills program is typically high. To ensure you get a spot we highly recommend registering as soon as you can once registration opens.

Registration Confirmation

Please note that your registration is not confirmed until we receive your e-transfer payment in full. Please submit your payment promptly after completing your registration to secure your spot.

Assessments

Before registering for a Chena Skills class your child must be assessed or recommended for a class. Below are the dates that we currently have open for an assessment.

• January 9th, 12th and 14th.

See the sign up sheet (big button below) for specifics about time and pool location. Please note that we may email you to adjust your assessment time a few days before the assessment to ensure that we have swimmers assess with other children their age.

If you are unable to make any of the assessment times, send us an email at registrar@chenaswimclub.ca with some of your child's details and swimming background and we will try to accommodate you in another way if we can.

Preparing for your Assessment

Below is some important information to remember before you arrive:

• Please have your child show up at the time indicated with their swimsuit on.
  Changerooms are available at the pool.
• The assessment will take approximately 5-10min of pool time.
• Please bring goggles for your child. They are required for all of our programs.
• We will provide a kickboard for the assessment. When you register for our programs your child will be provided with their own Chena Kickboard and Chena Skills Swim Cap (1st one of each is free) that are required for our programs.
• There may be others who have the same assessment time as you and depending on the level of swimmers present we may decide to asses some swimmers together or separately.

Assessment Results

Once your child has been assessed, you will receive a mini report card with an invitation to register for a specific level. You can also view this invitation on our invitation list here. With this invitation you can continue the registration process by registering for the class you have been invited to.

December Fall Skills Mini Meet

Thank you to all the parents and volunteers that helped us run this event. We are pleased to share the PDF of the results and photos taken by our wonderful parent volunteer photographer. 

Report Cards are now all uploaded for all classes. If you have trouble finding your report card reach out to me for help.
