THE CELEBRATION OF LIFE! Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ! On behalf of REM, I want to wish you a Happy Easter, the day we celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, His victory over death!
If the dominant theme of the Old Testament was expressed in words: “For the wages of sin is death” then the dominant theme of the New Testament is expressed in words: “but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Christianity is a faith of life, not death! It is a faith of victory, not defeat! It is a faith of justification, not condemnation; of strength, not weakness; of joy, not sorrow!
It is this brilliant truth of Christianity, made manifest on the morning of the Lord’s Resurrection, that continues to inspire evangelists to embark on yet another difficult and dangerous journey through frontline zones, through the northern Siberian regions, to raise their voices for Christ in Islamic countries, and to proclaim the Good News of the Risen Savior across the vast expanse of Eurasia. Christ is risen! Christ is risen indeed!
