The Issue with Tissue, a boreal love story

Written, directed and produced by Michael Zelniker

On August 8th, at 7pm, we will host Climate Reality leader Michael Zelniker, along with special guests from the film, as he discusses his documentary. The movie documents the largely untold story of the boreal forest and the Indigenous Peoples who call it home, how it is being clear-cut for the manufacture of toilet paper, conveying the message that protecting and conserving the boreal is an existential imperative.

Told by the First Nations Elders and, leading scientists and activists, The Issue with Tissue creates a kind of talking circle that inspires our storytellers to speak with intimacy and candor about the issues confronting us all, sharing their enlightened, unified vision in combination with the age old wisdom that can be found in the life of these forests and trees.

"What we do to the land, we do to ourselves."

You can see the movie at the Laemmle NoHo Theatre for a limited engagement starting August 25th.
