Hello All, Kaat and I along with my brother Jerry and his wife Cathy headed down to Nashville, TN for a week in the middle of September. We had five solid days of recording with my old friend Phil Solem (The Rembrandts "I'll Be There For You"). Brother Jerry helps at many of the Marv & Kaat shows with sound and gear. As you may notice above, we all made it out to a show at the Grand Ole Opry on one of the nights. This Saturday night, first Saturday of the month, as in all the first Saturdays this year Marv & Kaat will be back at the Iron Exchange Brewery in Maple Plain, MN. The show starts at 8:00 pm and we won't stop playing until the clock strikes eleven. Next week there are three shows at places that have never seen a Marv & Kaat show before. Wednesday October 9 we'll be at the Tamarack Tap Room in Woodbury from 5:00-8:00 pm. Hopefully we'll see some of our east metro friends there. Saturday October 12 is a double header. In the afternoon we'll play out west of the metro at the Fall Harvest Orchard in Montrose, MN. Show goes from 1:00-4:00 pm. It's time to get out and bag some apples! Later on that evening we'll be back in St. Paul, MN to play for the Grand Opening of the 620 Club on West 7th. Show from 8:00 pm to midnight. I'm looking forward to meeting many new people at those shows. At the end of the month, Halloween night October 31, will be a special hour and a half show showcasing Kaat's original material. The Hallberg Center for the Arts will be hosting from 7:00-8:30 pm. This will be one of only three shows we've done this year with the Kaatwalk band featuring Bob Delage on electric and upright basses, Kaat on vocals and guitar and me on fiddle, mandolin, guitar, harmonica, percussion and vocals. The show has no cost and is open to the public. Kaat says she's gonna wear a costume, you can come dressed any way you like. Don't miss it! The list below is everything that is planed so far through the end of October. Please check the website for any updates. Thanks so much for your interest in the music. I hope all is well with you all and you have an enjoyable month ahead. See you soon! Peace & Love, MG. |
