Marv & Kaat have a limited number of shows this month which allows us more time to work on upcoming record releases.  The shows that we are doing include our monthly stops at the Iron Exchange Brewery and the Chart House as well as the Main Street Sports Bar and Washington Square.  See the schedule below for dates and times.  At the end of the month we're planning a trip to Nashville to work with hit songwriter, singer and producer Phil Solem of The Rembrandts.  I'm really looking forward to getting together with my old friend and introducing Kaat to him.  Hopefully we'll be able to put the finishing touches on some of our tracks and maybe start some new ones. Phil and I go way back to meeting at a club in Northeast Minneapolis called Gramma B's, right on the Mississippi river, where I was playing the upstairs room and he was playing downstairs in, I think 1982.  I was in a band called Steele Cats.  In '83 we were both working on new projects and we decided to share a rehearsal space together in downtown Minneapolis.  I was interested in having him in my new band and he finally agreed.  That band was called MG & the Untouchables which played many shows but broke up in 1984.  I didn't see Phil for about a year, but we reconnected at a show at the Uptown Bar in Minneapolis in which Elvis Costello was also just hanging out.  Phil and I started writing songs together and later I was playing in his band.  That band was called Phil Solem & the Rembrandts.  We've been "Friends" now for over 40 years! The list below is everything that is planned so far for April.  Please check the website for any updates. Thanks so much for your interest in the music.  Looking forward to seeing you in April and the months ahead! Peace & Love, MG. |
