Welcome to the February 2024 edition of Marv's Music Mail newsletter.

One of our most unique shows in recent memory was at The Hallberg Center for the Arts in Wyoming, MN on Thursday night, January 25th.  The show featured two songwriting duos in the round.  Kaat and I were joined by Karlos and Julie Weisenhorn of the Abiders.  We had a full house as we traded off playing our songs and joined in on each others music.  It was a fun night of listening to all original songs.  Thanks to Ken Legus for the photo above and all who came out to the show.  For more on my connection with Karlos and Julie, check out last months newsletter in the archive.

Shane Martin's Songs of the South (AlabamaTribute) shows at the Chanhassen Fireside Theatre in January sold out for the second year in a row.  Sounds like we are already booked back again for next year!  Thanks to all who came out and filled all those seats, you were a fun audience.  I'm looking forward to seeing how the video looks from the Saturday night show.

Coming up in February, I'd like to mention that I have been playing the Barley+Vine every year on Valentine's day since 2018.  Kaat has been joining me since 2020.  So that will make this year's the seventh annual for me and fifth for Kaat.  It's hard to believe there have been that many.  Please come out for a special night of love songs (and love gone wrong songs) with great food and drink.  

We're heading back to Forager, voted best brewery in Rochester for a special all day of music February 24th.  Kaat and I will play from 2:00-5:00 pm. with several groups to follow.  Hope to see all our southeastern Minnesota friends for an afternoon show.  Also, don't forget to check out the Iron Exchange Brewery in Maple Plain, MN and the Chart House in Lakeville, MN who have booked us once a month for all of 2024!

Kaat and I have been continuing our recording every week with the help of Gil Navarro for upcoming releases.
