Hello All, Welcome to the November edition of Marv's Music Mail Newsletter. I'll be doing some extensive traveling this month, but before I head off to the United Kingdom I'll be playing a trio of shows this weekend close by. Friday night at the Indian Island Winery and Saturday night at the Iron Exchange Brewery, both with Kaat. Saturday afternoon I'll be at the Cannon River Winery with the husband and wife duo Relativity. I'm heading off to London on the 6th to meet up with my old friend Raven, who has already been in the UK for a couple of weeks. Raven performs under the stage name Galahad Complex. The musical persona of USA based musical performer, Raven Darkly, who once performed as ‘Thee Duke of Dark’. He took on this new title as tribute to his former Employer/Friend 60’s pop star-Bobby Vee, when he passed away in 2016 from Alzheimer’s. Bob would often introduce Raven as someone who possessed a ‘Galahad Complex’ and hence the name change. Raven has another alter ego called Haskell Kimbal. I recently recorded tracks for four of the songs on the just released CD "That's Thrill...Billy" by Kimbal. Anyway, I'll be accompanying Raven for some shows in the UK and also may do a solo set at some of the venues. Raven is experienced at this but it will be all new to me. An exciting new adventure. The poster above is of one of the artists that we will be opening for in Northampton. She's got a real psychedelic thing going on. I'll be back in Minnesota just in time to play our traditional pre Thanksgiving show at the Legends Club in Prior Lake. I have a feeling it will feel good to be back home. See the calendar below for details on all of the shows for the month. If you want to look ahead a little further, click the website link below and go to the STAGES page for more of the calendar. Thanks to all who came out to shows this past month, it means so much to me and I don't take it for granted. I really appreciate it. Happy Thanksgiving, see you at the shows! Peace & Love, MG. |
