Welcome to the September edition of Marv's Music Mail Newsletter. Thanks so much for subscribing! August was another very busy month of making music. Kaat and I capped it off with the last two days spent playing at the Minnesota State Fair DNR Stage. Kaat was especially excited to play the fair as it was her first time to sing there. Many old friends and fans attended the shows and I believe we gained many more new ones. We also now have new promo photos to sign and give out at shows.
It seems like the beautiful summer weather we've been having is going to hold out for a while longer. Tonight Kaat and I will be on the super nice patio at the Barley+Vine. Tomorrow night we'll be on stage at the Iron Exchange Brewery. In between, I'll be returning again to do a solo show at the Rice County Steam & Gas Show, Saturday morning from 10:00 am-noon and also Sunday morning, same time and place. The Steam & Gas show is a fun annual weekend festival showcasing old steam and gas engines including monster steam tractors, food and music (me and others). The grounds are located at 11988 Faribault Blvd, Dundas, MN.
While Kaat heads off to Florida for a much needed vacation, I will carry on with a string of, what is becoming rare, solo shows. Starting next Friday September 8th at the Narrows, then the 9th at the Chart House and the 15th at Zen Fusion in Rochester.
Shane Martin's Songs of the South Alabama Tribute Show has one performance at the end of this month. We'll be playing at the beautiful Potter Auditorium in the Chatfield Center for the Arts in Chatfield , MN at 7:30 pm Saturday September 30. I'm looking forward to playing in that amazing space in south eastern Minnesota.
