Welcome to the Newsletter for September 2026!

We were asked to do two additional shows last month for a total of 19 shows in August! It was great to see so many people at all the shows, Thanks to all who came out. The first show added was Summer Tuesday in Stillwater. It was a beautiful night to play next to the St. Croix river to all the people out for a night of food, music and a movie. This past Sunday the Midway Saloon in St. Paul had a cancellation and we were asked to play. It was a nice evening on the patio there with a lovely audience. I enjoyed hearing Dick, who curates the shows there, talk about his long friendship with Bob Dylan.

The photo above is from Saturday night at the Grand Oak Opry in St. Paul where we played a full band Kaatwalk show for a wonderful packed audience. We're continuing to promote the latest Kaatwalk EP release, A Week In June and we have cds and t-shirts for sale at all the shows. If you can't make it to a show and would like a cd or t-shirt, just email me and we can make it happen. The next Kaatwalk full band show will be at the Crooners Main Stage October 1st at 7:00 pm celebrating the release of Kaats first full album titled Build. It'll be an expanded band with most of the musicians that played on the album in attendance. John Wright on bass, Martial Besombes on piano, and Noah Levy (Brian Setzer, Peter Frampton) on drums, Daryl Boudreaux on percussion, Kaat on guitar and vocals and I will bring some of my stuff. We've been working hard to finish the album, with the official release date set for October 2nd. I'm super excited to share the album with everyone! Many people have been asking if we will be back at the Minnesota State Fair this year and the answer is YES! Marv & Kaat will be performing once again on the DNR Stage Wednesday & Thursday September 2 & 3. Set times: 10:00 am, Noon, and 2:00-4:00 pm.

There are a couple other things I'd like to share with you this month. Marv & Kaat will do a live on air radio performance and interview at KCHK Radio, New Prague, MN 95.5 FM and 1350 AM on the morning show September 11 from 7:30-9:30 am. We'll be playing some songs from the EP and the upcoming album as well as many fan favorites. I'm curious about what questions they may ask. We will also be promoting a benefit show we are performing for in Northfield at the Grand Event Center on September 27th from 3:00-6:00 pm. The musical event is for people with Alzheimer's disease, their family and friends and anyone else who would like to attend, to enjoy a fun time together.

One final thing I'd like to mention is a first time show for Marv & Kaat at Max's Social House in Hudson, WI September 17th from 4:30-7:30 pm. Looking forward to playing there and hopefully many more times as they are showcasing music almost every day of the week.
