Hello All, Welcome to the Newsletter for March 2026! We're planning lots of special events this year so keep reading the newsletter to keep up on what's going on from month to month. Marv & Kaat will be celebrating St. Patricks Day a little bit early this year at the Omni Winery in Rosemount, MN on Saturday March 14th from 7:30-10:30 pm. We played the same event there last year and the huge space there was packed with all ages. Live music runs through out the day starting at 11:00 am. Kaat is very Irish and will be showing off her red hair as always and I will try to find something green. Happy St. Patricks Day! We've been busy recording and we are getting ready to release not one but two Kaatwalk songs. One called "Open Your Eyes" was written and recorded fairly quickly about the recent events occurring in Minneapolis, St. Paul and all over the state. At the Kaatwalk White Squirrel show at the end of January and through out February we've been raising funds and supplies for distressed people. "Open Your Eyes" will be released soon after being mastered at the end of next week. Speaking of releases, there will be a very special release party and concert by the Kaatwalk band, Kaat's original music band, at Crooner's Dunsmore Jazz Room Thursday March 19th. The StarTribune labeled the room the best music listening room in the state. We're so excited to showcase the band with Kaat on vocals & guitar and Marv on electric guitars, violin, mandolin, banjo and harmonica. Daryl Boudreaux the fabulous percussionist who played on the "Stop The Rain" track and with us at the release party in October, will be playing again. John Wright on electric & upright bass, who's been recording and playing on Kaat's still to come recordings, and who I haven't played a gig with since our days back playing with Kevin Bowe in the Okemah Prophets. And featuring my old friend Martial Besombes who played fantastic piano on the track that we will be releasing called "Can't Be Alone". In fact the reason we picked the Dunsmore Room for this show was for the beautiful grand piano that Martial will play there. Many of you may recognize the song "Can't Be Alone" as the one that Kaat and I regularly perform in the middle of the audience. Doors open at 6:00 pm, music at 7:00 pm. These shows will be the debut of our new bass player Tim Sunde.
