Hello All,

Welcome to the Newsletter for February 2026!  We're in the planning for lots of special events this year so keep reading the newsletter to keep up on what's going on from month to month.

On a very cold weekend in January Marv & Kaat played two very fun shows in Fairmont, MN.  Friday January 23rd we played the Sisseton Sky Bar at the Marina Lodge to a very raucous standing room only crowd. The picture above shows us playing the next night on stage at the Red Rock Center for the Arts. It was a rare show of mostly Marv & Kaat original music and special covers played to a very appreciative listening audience. Thanks so much to all who came to the shows!

This coming Saturday night February 7th Marv & Kaat will be at the Iron Exchange Brewery in Maple Plain, MN at a new time. Music will go from a 7:30 pm start time to 10:00 pm for all our shows there this year. Two more shows for Marv & Kaat happen at the end of the month at Washington Square, White Bear Lake, MN and The 620 Club, St. Paul, MN.

The middle of the month will be spent recording and preparing new music for release. Speaking of releases, there will be a very special release party and concert by the Kaatwalk band, Kaat's original music band, at Crooner's Dunsmore Jazz Room Thursday March 19th. The StarTribune labeled the room the best music listening room in the state. We're so excited to showcase the band with Kaat on vocals & guitar, me on all my stuff, Daryl Boudreaux the fabulous percussionist who played on the "Stop The Rain" track and with us at the release party in October, John Wright on electric & upright bass, who's been recording and playing on Kaat's still to come recordings, and my old friend Martial Besombes who played fantastic piano on the track that we will be releasing called "Can't Be Alone". In fact the reason we picked the Dunsmore Room for this show was for the beautiful grand piano that Martial will play there. Many of you may recognize the song "Can't Be Alone" as the one that Kaat and I regularly perform in the middle of the audience. Doors open at 6:00 pm, music at 7:00 pm. We're planning on this being a sell out so get your tickets now!

Another couple ticketed shows coming up at the end of March, Shane Martin's Songs of the South will be performing the Alabama Tribute at LeMusique Room in St. Michael, MN Saturday March 27, Showtime 7:30 pm. and a Sunday matinee  March 28 at 3:00 pm. These shows will be the debut of our new bass player Tim Sunde. Get your tickets at the link below.
