Hello All,

Welcome to the Newsletter for August.  It was a beautiful July evening at the Historic Courthouse in Stillwater, MN as the photo above illustrates.  The Ice Cream Social put on by Washington County Parks was attended by many families, and treats, food, festivities and of course good music by PK Mayo and Marv & Kaat were had by all.  It was great to play for all the kids!  Marv & Kaat will be back in Stillwater this Friday August 1st at the Freight House from 6:00-9:00 pm.

Shane Martin's Songs of the South Alabama Tribute has had a busy summer traveling to the west, north and east.  We've been to Crosslake, MN, Redwood Falls, MN, Baraboo WI, Alexandria MN, and Moorhead MN.  We'll wrap up the summer of shows this Saturday as we head north again to Aitkin MN for the RippleSippi Music Fest.  Show time 5:30 pm.

If you look below you'll see 20 shows are scheduled for August.  I'm not sure, but I think that might be a record for me for number of shows in one month.  So we're playing many of the favorite places as well as some private events.  A couple things I would like to mention.  For July MC's Tap House postponed the Marv & Kaat show by one week because of rain, only to have it rain again, so we played inside.  Hopefully, Wed. August 13 we will finally get to play the rooftop again.  Marv & Kaat will play Club 57 in Waseca on Thursday August 14.  If you live near that area of Minnesota we'd love to see you there!

Kaat and I are excited to once again play the Minnesota State Fair Wednesday and Thursday August 27 & 28.  We'll be back on the DNR Stage which is near the big log DNR building and fish pond.  Set times are a little different this year.  We'll play 45 min. sets starting at 10:00 am and Noon and then a two hour set from 2:00-4:00 pm each day.  Hope to see you at the Great Minnesota Get Together!

I'll be playing solo once again at the 50th Annual Rice County Steam & Gas Show in Dundas MN.  It's a great exhibition of vintage machinery of all kinds.  There's a steam powered sawmill, threshing, tractor pull and parade, all kinds of things to see and do and great fun for the kids.  I'll be playing August 30 & 31 from 10:00 am-noon on the stage of the music building followed by more live music in the afternoon.

I'm a little bit sad that this is the last newsletter of the summer and when I write the next one we'll be heading into Fall.  I hope you're getting out and enjoying all the many fun things we like to do in the summertime.  So many shows to pick from in August, so I'm hoping that we'll be playing close to you at some point and we'll see you out at a show!
