My testimony in Missions PART 03

Arquivo do boletim informativo

This is the third day that I have written about how God called us to develop the Evangelistic Support Program. Thank you very much for following up on every email.

Well, in the email sent yesterday I talked about our arrival in the border region between Bolivia and Brazil and today I want to talk about the period of time we spent in the border region. I hope each email can uplift your life.

When we arrived in the border region between Brazil and Bolivia, we rented a house in the city of Puerto Suares and stayed in that region for 8 months until my daughter Deborah was born.

It was a time of adaptation in the new country that the Lord placed us in. Bolivia is a country that is culturally very different from Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay and others. The countries Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador are similar and at the same time different from other South American countries

Many times I passed by the Bolivian flag and told the Lord how much I loved Paraguay and my desire to do missions in Paraguay, but I was in Bolivia by order of the Lord Jesus. I really felt that I didn't love Bolivia and wanted to be a missionary in Paraguay

One day I passed through the border region and looked at the Bolivian flag and told the Lord again that I didn't love those people. I told God that what I felt was like marrying someone I didn't love, someone I didn't know and I was feeling broken inside by everything that was happening. Then the Spirit of God said to me: “I will teach you to love these people.”

They were amazed and told me that I would starve and would certainly dishonor the name of Christ in that place. Some laughed at us for not having a car and now my pregnant wife needing a taxi to get to clinic appointments.

That situation wanted to knock me down, but whenever I prayed to the Lord, the Spirit of God reminded me of every word he himself had given me and those words strengthened me.

Well, my money was running out and it wasn't even enough to give birth to my daughter, much less to support us on the mission field in Bolivia. Then one day my father appeared in the border region and said that we should return to Paraguay so that my wife could have a child.

He was very worried and said that my mother-in-law was also super worried about our situation. So we agreed to return to Paraguay for the birth of my daughter.

When the day of the baby's birth arrived, I only had R$1,300 Brazilian Reais. The money was just enough for the birth, some medicine and the two days that my wife would have to stay in hospital.

On January 24, 2007, my daughter Débora was born and it was a great joy for all of us. I went to the hospital office and paid the hospital expenses and handed over the R$1,300 reais we had and we were left with nothing.

Well, we had to leave the hospital in the afternoon and before we left, brothers from the church started to visit us. Each brother brought an offering and I thanked him and put the money in my pocket.

I didn't look at the values, I just thanked him for the offer and put the money in my pocket. When we got home, my wife asked if we had any money, so I said that what we had in the bank, the R$ 1,300 Brazilian Reais I had paid for hospital expenses. Then she asked me how we were going to get back to Bolivia and I said I didn't know, but that we should pray.

When I counted the money that was in my pocket there was exactly R$1300 Brazilian Reais. Yes, I paid the hospital R$1,300 Reais for hospital expenses and before leaving the hospital, the Lord Jesus uses his servants to “return” me precisely the R$1,300 Reais.

But with that situation, the Holy Spirit filled my heart to believe that HE would be with us in Bolivia. Certainly R$1300 was not enough to keep us in Bolivia, but God renewed in my heart the confidence that HE would be with us taking care of everything

PHOTO: Deborah is currently 16 years old, she is studious, likes to read Christian books, takes care of children at church and helps us a lot in several other areas in the work of missions that we develop. Don't forget to pray for her.

I write these things that God has done and I say that the Lord has guided me to write by email, write on my blog, edit videos, but even today we live by faith, we live in the confidence that the Lord Jesus will supply, will be with us .

Today my expenses are greater, much greater, but the most important thing is to maintain trust that the same God who performed miracles to meet basic needs is the same God who continues to provide today.

So, we stayed in Paraguay for about three and a half months and then decided to return to Bolivia. We received financial help from several brothers in the church and some people who owed me furniture that I sold came to pay us.

With that money we returned to Bolivia and I had no money left. There was no maintainer, no partner, no one to help us. Now we weren't two mission lovers going to Bolivia, but we had a third person, a baby with us.

God poured into our hearts the certainty that we would lack nothing and that all needs would be met by HIM in this missionary work. The Spirit of God poured into us confidence that our supply was in the Lord.

So, we left Paraguay, the country I had been working in for over 10 years, and went to Bolivia again. Upon arriving at the border region between Brazil and Bolivia, we handed over our house, put everything we had on the train and went to Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The train was slow, very noisy, not comfortable, but we arrived in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia

And when I arrived in Santa Cruz de la Sierra I remembered that God had told us that our house would be close to the second ring in Santa Cruz and I asked some pastors about renting a house in that area and they all told me that it was an expensive area to live in. to hire.

A Brazilian missionary asked me how much money I had to pay the rent and when I told him how much money I had, the pastor told me that I couldn't even rent a small room in that region.

I was scared by everything I heard, but I remembered that the Lord had told me that the house would be close to the second ring and the Lord Jesus also said that nothing would be missing.

I bought a newspaper and marked all the rentals next to the second ring. But before leaving I told Mina that we should pray and ask God for the house we need. Mina and I took time to pray and we asked God in prayer for a house that had a bedroom upstairs on the first floor and a large space downstairs on the first floor for worship services.

So, I went in search of the house and the Lord Jesus gave it to us as HE said it would be and the way we asked: The house had a bedroom upstairs and downstairs on the first floor a large space for worship meetings.

Above is the photo of our first house in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. You can only see a balcony, but to the left was a nice hall for meetings and upstairs was our bedroom.

It may be very simple for you, but in 2007 the rent would be 300 dollars a month and I only had 120 dollars to pay. The owner accepted and we kept the house.

Well, in every detail we saw God's actions, God's care helping us in everything

I'll stop here. If God allows me tomorrow I will continue with this testimony

God bless you
