Evangelism in southern Brazil, Uruguay and southern Argentina

EVANGELISTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM

This week I am sending some video links with the aim of answering questions from some brothers who support missionary work. I like the videos a lot, because in the photos it is possible to hide a lot of things, but in the video you can see a little of the places where we go, feel a little of the environment we are in and you are closer to the missionary project. I'm not a professional editor, but I try to do my best.

As igrejas da América do Sul desenvolvem um trabalho evangelístico baseado na emoção e não tanto em números, em porcentagens e essa forma de trabalhar faz com que o esforço seja direcionado para as regiões emocionalmente atraentes para a recadação financeira e há pouco esforço nas regiões onde realmente há falta de presença do evangelho.

In 2021, when we set our goal to expand the project to countries other than Bolivia, we observed that the south of Brazil is one of the most deprived regions of the gospel of Brazil, as well as Uruguay and the southern region of Argentina. The capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, the city of Porto Alegre is the Brazilian capital with the lowest rate of evangelicals in Brazil. Then we have the capital of the state of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, as the second capital with the lowest rate of evangelicals in Brazil. The city of Aracaju, capital of the state of Sergipe, located in the northeast region, is the third capital with the lowest rate of evangelicals and it is for this reason that we are entering that region as well.

But in the big churches that are in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, nobody talks about this subject. This is the same problem that I have to see the need to develop this support work as soon as possible in European countries before working in African countries. There are many projects with Bibles, leaflets, booklets, different translations and means of distribution and reach in African countries, but practically non-existent in European countries. We started the process of getting in touch with active evangelists in Europe and the number keeps growing.

Thus, with this type of work method, developing the project based on emotion and not on numbers, the south of Brazil, the south of Argentina and practically all of Uruguay remain without missionary assistance because they are not emotionally attractive regions. They are richer regions, strong agriculture, the region with the coldest climate, the people formed not so much by descendants of African peoples, but by Europeans and other factors.

And I say again that my observation is not on skin color, race, financial level, unemployment rate or if they are of African, indigenous or European descent, but our gaze is on the presence of the gospel, number of churches, number of evangelists , support for missionary work and others. Thus, the need in southern Brazil is great

In the red circle you can see where our current Support Point for the southern region is. We managed to take from Rio de Janeiro to the city of Vacaria more than 5 tons of printed material for evangelism. Half of the material is in Portuguese and the other half is in Spanish and Guaraní. Guaraní is a language spoken in Paraguay, southern Bolivia and some border regions with Brazil.

Our aim is to make Vacaria a distribution base for the entire southern region of Brazil, an entry point for evangelistic material for Argentina and Uruguay. In May, we sent 1/2 ton of printed material to the border region between Brazil and Uruguay and started the support process within Uruguay. Our aim is to have a Support Point defined in the interior of Uruguay with Uruguayan evangelists leading the distribution process.

We still don't have enough evangelist contacts in the southern region of Argentina. We are praying for this objective and the door that we are seeing being opened is the evangelists from Paraguay who always go to Argentina to preach the gospel.

In addition to serving Uruguay, the Vacaria Support Point is currently serving Paraguay. We got a bus company that is taking the materials from Vacaria to Paraguay every week. But we are also working so that the Support Point that has been active in Paraguay since 2021 can receive the materials directly in Paraguay.

PRAYER REQUEST:
Pray that as soon as possible we will have a company in the southern region that can do the work of importing materials from the United States and Ireland.

Also pray that God can raise new partners for this missionary project, because the maintenance of the work is done with such partnerships. The Lord Jesus told us that the partnership would be made with people who love missions work, love evangelism, those who love to see souls being reached by the gospel. Please pray that God would put such people in our path.
