Wisconsin’s parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas deserve champions—and today, we invite you to become one.

Throughout September, the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks is asking people across Wisconsin to take the pledge to: Be a Steward Champion of Wisconsin’s Wild Places.

These public lands inspire adventure, preserve wildlife, strengthen communities, support local economies, and create memories that last for generations. They are essential to outdoor recreation, tourism, education, and our physical and mental well-being.

Yet as visitation continues to grow, funding has not kept pace with the needs of these treasured places.

That is why the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks and more than 65 Friends groups across the state continue to take action through stewardship, volunteerism, community enrichment, education, and fundraising.

Now, we are asking you to stand with us.
