Friend,

Yesterday, we shared an opportunity. Today, we’re asking you to take the next step.

This Monday, April 13 at 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, communities across Wisconsin in all 72 counties will gather for the Wisconsin Conservation Congress Spring Hearings. And this year, there is a powerful new opportunity to make a direct impact:

Submit a citizen resolution in person for our parks, trails, forests, recreation areas.

WCC Delegates have made it clear—they want to hear more about how we can secure sustainable, long-term funding or our state parks, forests, trails, and recreation areas.

As Friends groups, you already know the reality: the current funding model is not enough to meet the growing needs of our public lands.

Monday is our moment to push for real change.

How You Can Make an Impact

1. Attend a hearing in your county on Monday.

Find your county hearing location here: Spring Hearing Meeting Locations

2. Submit the Resolution

When you arrive, bring and submit two (2) copies of the prepared resolution (template available below). It has been crafted to meet all submission requirements and focuses on securing sustainable funding for Wisconsin’s public lands.

3. Speak Up

When the opportunity arises, speak to the resolution—candidly and professionally.
The more voices supporting this effort, the stronger its path forward to the Natural Resources Board and state legislators.

Why This Matters

This is about more than funding.

It’s about protecting the places that define Wisconsin—

  • Spaces that drive tourism and local economies
  • Trails and waters that support countless outdoor experiences
  • Public lands that strengthen community
  • Natural areas that provide some of the most accessible, affordable health and wellness opportunities available to all
