We hope you had a moment to reflect on the first four reasons why Wisconsin’s parks matter. Each of them significant in understanding the uniqueness of Wisconsin's natural wonders.
Here are the remaining five of the nine reasons your support makes a difference—especially as the year comes to a close.
Reason No. 5: Learning Happens Outdoors
Friends help fund environmental education, youth programs, and naturalist support, inspiring stewardship in the next generation.
Reason No. 4: Learning Happens Outdoors
From mental health to physical wellness, parks offer space to breathe, move, and reconnect—year-round. Fresh air, beautiful views, it not only pushes the body, it fills the heart, soul, and mind.
Reason No. 3: Stewardship Protects the Future
Trails, habitats, and natural resources need care. Friends support restoration and conservation projects that ensure long-term resilience.
Reason No. 2: Parks Are Underfunded—but Essential.
Despite serving millions, Wisconsin’s parks rely heavily on user fees and community support. Friends fill critical gaps.
With an unknown future in funding, we at FWSP are at the frontline advocating for state legislators to understanding do better.
Number One Reason: Friends Matter Now More Than Ever.
When you support Friends of Wisconsin State Parks, you’re supporting 118 public lands and 65+ Friends groups across the state. We give through creation of toolkits, resources, and more to educate and advocate to state legislators. We work to strategize and network communities with something significant in their own backyard.
This is the final stretch of the year.
Your donation, park pass purchase, or calendar purchase today directly supports the parks you love—and carries real impact into 2026.
