Speak Now. Speak Often. Show Your Love for Your State Parks.May has come and gone. As we enter June, the road to finalizing the Wisconsin biennial budget draws near with each passing second. If there is ever a crucial time to speak up and be persistent to advocate for our beloved Wisconsin State Parks, it's now. As a reminder: Please contact your elected official to bolster support for funding for the parks. Showcase your passion, display numbers and convey stories. Spark conversations with other like-minded people. The more voices, the better. As promised: We are sharing a "Dear Elected Official" letter template. This template can be used to submitting a letter to your state representative. From the assembly to the senate, Lieutenant Governor, and whomever else needs to hear and read it. Unsure of who your elected officials are? We've got you covered. Follow the "My Vote Wisconsin" weblink to see who you should touching base with. Link is here: My Vote Wisconsin Weblink. Other recommendations: Contact your local governments. Have city/village council pass a resolution to support funding for the parks. Go even further and encourage your county boards to pass and supply a resolution. The parks support and bolster local economies through eco-tourism and outdoor recreation. It's a win-win for everyone. Upon contacting your representative(s), please follow up with us using the Google Form below. We are seeking to obtain this data so we can see who has responded, their level of support, etc. Elected Official Followup Form Reach out anytime if you questions, suggestions and need some extra ideas. I will continue to check in. Regards, Seth Taft Executive Director Friends of Wisconsin State Parks E: execdir@fwsp.org P: (608) 294-0810 www.fwsp.org |
