Hello!

In the world of online poker, not only do you want to provide players with a thrilling gaming experience, but you also want to foster an environment of fairness and etiquette. Enter the Anti-Banking feature - a powerful tool that ensures players stay at the table for a reasonable amount of time after a big win, promoting both courtesy and increased revenue.

Anti-Banking: Upholding Poker Etiquette and Revenue

Picture this: A player hits a massive pot, collects their winnings, promptly leaves the table and comes back right away with the minimum stack, leaving their opponents empty-handed and potentially frustrated. While some players prefer this tactic, it's widely considered bad manners in the poker world. Players should ideally stick around for a few more hands, giving others a chance to recoup their losses.

But there's more to Anti-Banking than just etiquette. It directly impacts your poker room's revenue. When players leave the table with their big winnings and return with a minimum stack, they engage in what's known as 'ratholing,' 'going south,' or 'short stacking.' This practice lowers the average pot at the table, resulting in reduced rake for your poker room.

Anti-Banking solves this issue by encouraging players to follow poker etiquette and play with their winnings for a while longer. It's based on rejoin limits, which require a player to use the same chip stack they had when they left the table for a specified period. By implementing Anti-Banking, you can't force a player to keep playing, but you can ensure they rejoin with the same stack for a predetermined time.

Introducing Call Time

Now, let's briefly touch on the Call Time feature, although it's less commonly used compared to Anti-Banking.

Call Time also serves as a tool to prevent players from leaving the table right after a profitable session. If a player tries to go into Sit Out mode instead of playing while in profit, Call Time keeps them engaged by having the system play on their behalf for a specified period.

While it may not be as commonly used as Anti-Banking, it can still play a role in promoting fair play and maximising revenue.
