Effective emailsWe are excited to extend an invitation to group to join the City Nature Challenge (CNC) YXE 2024—an engaging international event that aims to track biodiversity and foster a deeper connection with nature. As we gear up for this exciting challenge, we encourage you to participate by documenting local flora and fauna or by organizing your own nature event. The CNC YXE 2024 unfolds in two stages: - April 26 – April 29, 2024: Snap pictures of wild plants and animals.
- April 30 – May 5, 2024: Identify the discovered species.
By taking action locally, you contribute not only to the CNC but also to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals! Results of the challenge will be unveiled on Monday, May 6, 2024. We invite you to explore the iNaturalist app, capturing the beauty of Saskatoon's natural wonders and contributing to our city's bid for the most biodiverse title. As passionate advocates for the environment, you personally, your workplace, your group can make a significant impact. Whether promoting the event, encouraging co-workers, neighbours, schools, organizations and volunteers, or hosting additional activities, your involvement will be instrumental in showcasing Saskatoon's commitment to biodiversity and conservation. Simply visit CNC YXE 2024 for more information. We are eager to see your contribution to this global effort to understand and protect our planet's biodiversity. You are cordially invited to the four events scheduled, and we would like to entertain further events and partner with your family, organization, school or workplace. Public Engagement with Biological Recording (PEBR) events across Saskatoon and area include several formats, such as BioBlitzes, mini-BioBlitzes, species surveys, guided nature walks, ID parties, and various derivations of these, all of which share the common aims of collecting biodiversity data (environmental outcomes) while connecting the public with nature (social outcomes). We can help you make it happen! Can you imagine, families challenging families, classrooms daring other classrooms, workplaces throwing down the gauntlet to other businesses, green groups summoning other environmental organizations, youth groups inviting competition with others? We would love to add business or organization logos to the Saskatoon and area CNC 2024 logo on iNaturalist for their support and collaboration.
