Red Tree Foundation Counsellors are experts in grief and loss, and our sister organisation, SIDS and Kids SA, has been trusted by the SA Health community since 1977. You can rest assured that you are in safe and supportive, yet qualified and professional hands, with a Red Tree Foundation Counsellor by your side. The affordable counselling services provided by Red Tree Foundation are available for grief and loss associated with but not limited to:

• Bereavement (the death of a loved one)
• Divorce or changes in a relationship
• Changes in personal health due to illness or injury
• Changes in health of a loved one due to illness or injury
• Loss of a job/career or changes in financial security
• Changes in status or way of life

Our New Counsellor

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Jacob Mangelsdorf, our new Grief and Loss Counsellor at Red Tree Foundation.  Jacob comes to our Organisation with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

"Jacob has been a practicing counsellor since 2008 and has a person centred holistic approach to therapy. Jacob has spent nearly a decade working in loss and grief counselling programs with multiple roles, one long term role included a focus on suicide bereavement and suicide prevention. Jacob has experience with individuals, couples and family counselling as well as group facilitation and training presentations for various groups/organisations. Jacob has his own experiences of loss and trauma that he sometimes draws on in therapy. A counselling session with Jacob is grounded, holistic and generally quite lively and often utilises experiences from sport, music and other areas of life to help people through their difficulties."

Child Care News

If you are a childcare educator you may be aware that in October 2023 ACECQA announced some pretty important changes around how educators supervise sleeping infants and the requirement to do sleep and rest risk assessments at least once every 12 months. ACECQA also suggest that “educators should regularly undertake training on best practice approaches to safe sleep”.

SIDS and Kids SA’s Safe Sleep training will enable your centre to fulfil this training requirement through either our Safe Sleep Essentials or Safe Sleep Comprehensive training sessions.

In today's society, social media plays a huge part in influencing peoples decisions, including how a nursery should be decorated. We want the community to make informed not influenced decisions about their baby's sleep environment, so always do your homework when deciding on which infant products to buy.

Be Bold. Wear Red 2024

'Be Bold. Wear Red' had another successful year of raising awareness and funds in the Community.  Wearing red on a Friday casual day, hosting cupcakes stalls, cooking up brekky for the local truckies, raffle baskets and a 'Bold Party' were just some of the ways the local community rallied around the fundraising efforts in support of Red Tree Foundation.

To our community of supporters, we would like to say 'THANK YOU'!  It is through your generosity that Red Tree Foundation can offer the professional grief and loss services for bereaved parents in SA who have lost a pregnancy, infant, child or teen suddenly and unexpectedly.

Annual Memorial Service 2024

Grief & Loss Corporate Training
