Collaboration at The Wertheim & Washington National Cathedral

Last week, we proudly welcomed Spanish organist Aarón Ribas to our campus for two special performances, held in partnership with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C.

Ribas was the first visiting guest of this year's "Spanish Young Music Talents" - a program launched in 2022 that was designed to enhance and support young Spanish musicians’ careers in collaboration with U.S. universities and schools.

During his time at FIU, he gave a solo recital, performed with the FIU Symphony Orchestra, and gave masterclasses to our students.

This week, Ribas and Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts Director, Dr. Karen Veloz, travel to Washington, D.C. for a performance at Washington National Cathedral’s Great Organ.

The Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C. presents its cultural programs covering a wide array of artistic disciplines and designed to promote Spanish culture in the U.S. through fruitful cultural exchanges among institutions and artists, fostering positive bilateral relations between our two countries.
