Our FIU Jazz Vocal Ensemble goes to JEN 2023!

Congratulations to our FIU Jazz Vocal Ensemble, the Panthonics, who will be the first student group to ever represent Florida International University at the Jazz Education Network Conference!

The annual conference brings together jazz beginners and experts from around the globe for a once-in-a lifetime experience. The 2023 conference will take place next January 4-7 in Orlando, FL. Our student group has been chosen to perform on both the JENerations Stage and on the New Voices Stage on January 5th!

Led by Lisanne Lyons, the group was announced as the 2021 DownBeat Winner for Outstanding Large Jazz Vocal Performance in the Undergraduate category. Every year, recordings are submitted from institutions nationwide in a variety of categories and are then adjudicated by panels of respected jazz performers and educators. Click here to learn more about their award and the successes of some of our graduates.
