Celebrate National Arts in Education Week With Us! September 11 - 17, 2022
Passed by Congress in 2010, House Resolution 275 designates the week beginning with the second Sunday in September as National Arts in Education Week. During this week, the field of arts education joins together in communities across the country to tell the story of the impact of the transformative power of the arts in education. Celebrate with us! We would love to see you at our performance taking place this week at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Miami Beach or listen to our student-run radio broadcast, the FIU Music Hour, on 88.9FM WDNA Pubic Radio. Details below. We also would like to congratulate an exceptional graduate, Daniel Simon '22, for his acceptance into Harvard Law. When he arrived from Cuba just a few years ago, he played the violin to help his mother make ends meet. He was an active music major who served as concertmaster for the FIU Symphony Orchestra and went on tour with fellow music students to Santa Cruz, Bolivia last semester. Courses in law and music business, coupled with his training as a musician, propelled him to pursue a legal profession, helping artists to protect their music and talent in the music industry. Learn more about his inspirational story here. Join us this week on Instagram as we post more stories that highlight the transformative power of the arts in education. Click here to follow.
