From NYC to Aventura: FIU Musical Theatre's Bold New Adventure Fresh off an unforgettable tour to New York City—where they performed at Lincoln Center alongside the original Broadway cast of Anastasia—our musical theatre students are ready for their next big moment. Under the direction of FIU Musical Theatre Coordinator Vincent Connor, they now bring their talent to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center from April 4–6 for the South Florida premiere of Animal Farm: A Twisted Musical Tale, a bold new musical based on George Orwell’s classic novel. During their time in NYC, students explored iconic landmarks, immersed themselves in the energy of Broadway, and attended hit productions like The Great Gatsby. Now, they channel that experience into a powerful new performance that reimagines Orwell’s fable in a world of fake news, cancel culture, and the fight for free speech. Expect political pigs, singing horses, corrupt farmers, and choreographed protests, all woven into a score that blends folk-inspired melodies with contemporary musical theatre. From Broadway to Aventura, these students are proving their voices belong on the biggest stages. 🎟️ Be part of the journey—get your tickets and experience the South Florida premiere of Animal Farm, a thought-provoking, high-energy musical that will challenge, entertain, and inspire. |
