Every costume fitting, every note—it’s a dream come true to perform where I grew up, blending my Cuban roots with the richness of the American stage.” A native of Cuba, León immigrated to Miami at age 17 and immersed herself in its vibrant arts community. Her passion and dedication led her to earn a master’s degree in Vocal Performance under the mentorship of Robert B. Dundas. At FIU, León refined her craft through masterclasses with globally acclaimed voice teachers, including Spanish zarzuela coach Borja Mariño and the legendary Helen Donath. These formative experiences in the FIU Opera Theater Program set the stage for her remarkable rise in the world of opera. Taking on the role of the Queen of the Night—one of opera’s most demanding roles requiring breathtaking vocal agility and dramatic presence— Laura has captivated audiences with her magnetic stage presence.
