FIU’s Jamie Ousley Collaborates on Latin GRAMMY®-Nominated Best Instrumental Album

We are thrilled to announce that FIU Associate Professor Jamie Ousley has collaborated on the Grammy-nominated album Claude Bolling Goes Latin: Suite for Flute & Latin Music Ensemble, which is up for Best Instrumental Album at the 25th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards!

The album, by Carlomagno Araya & José Valentino, features an exceptional ensemble—Jorge Glem (Venezuelan cuatro), Ernesto Laya (maracas), Eduardo Montero (piano), Jamie Ousley (upright bass), and Ramses Araya (percussion) - each contributing their unique sound to the project.

The Latin GRAMMY® Awards, which celebrate excellence in Latin music, will be held live in Miami for the first time since 2003 at the Kaseya Center on November 14th.

Musical Theatre Students Go Backstage on Royal Caribbean

Our musical theatre majors recently had an unforgettable backstage experience aboard Royal Caribbean’s Allure of the Seas. This hands-on learning opportunity gave our students exclusive insight into the professional world of cruise ship entertainment. These immersive experiences ensure our students are well-prepared for successful careers in the performing arts. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and the unique opportunities we provide for their growth.
