Los Angeles Tour Experience in Partnership with Playing for Change Foundation We are thrilled to share the extraordinary journey that our talented Jazz Combo 1 students embarked on this past weekend, representing the Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts in an exceptional partnership with the Playing for Change Foundation. Under the guidance of Wertheim School of Music Director Karen Veloz and our new Jazz Big Band Director, Omar Lateef, they ventured to the vibrant city of Los Angeles for a remarkable on-tour experience in support of promoting positive social change through music. We are immensely proud of our students for their unwavering dedication and hard work. A big shout out to Calvin Gay, Michael Mackey, Enrique Pulley, Jake Mongin, and Emily Tang for playing a terrific set at the home of famed film producer, Sybil Orr and her husband, Michael Orr! Together, we're on a mission to make higher education accessible to talented, underserved communities. The weekend was about fostering unity and making a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most. Thank you once again for your unwavering support and let us continue to celebrate the power of music to change lives and bring people together. To learn more about our partnership, click here. |
