Slovak post-black metal band Besna has released the audiovisual single Zverstvá from the upcoming release of their debut album, which is scheduled to be out on March 11, 2022. How fast were the crimes of the past regime forgotten? That beast of noble ideals, praised by the slogans, chained by the jailers, surveying day and night for those who dare to raise their heads. But perhaps the past is but a far and distant fairytale to us… The lyrics of the song deals with the issue of society coping with the crimes of past regimes and the current enforcement of their justice. It is stylized in a fairytale landscape of wild animals and mad atrocities. The track has a modern metal sound with post-rock and black metal influences. The composition is more straightforward than its previous releases.
The video was made and mostly shot by a young graphic designer Tomáš Paulen, who also participated in the design of the entire album. Documentary director Tereza Michalová took care of the shots of the animals. The single is also available on the band's Bandcamp and soon on streaming services. In March, you can also look forward to the entire debut album Zverstvá, which the band is releasing on its own. They recorded it in the Pulp studio in Bratislava with the help of Jakub Hríbik and Jakub Spiszak, and eventually, Jakub Tirčo then mixed and mastered the whole thing.
